| | | Snow Skiing & Snowboarding Helmets Snow helmets are not "sport helmets", and those you use for biking and cycling should never be used as a winter sports helmet. Ski helmets and snowboard helmets are made to withstand impact for anything you may happen to run into while on the mountain — ice, trees, gravitational pull and tough winter elements. They are designed to protect your head and ears with not only a durable, rigid shell, but are also lined with moisture-wicking and temperature-sensitive materials. The alpine helmet liner is typically constructed of EPS (expanded polystyrene), designed for maximum shock absorbency to prevent brain injuries. In-mold helmets are constructed by molding the shell and EPS in a single process. In-mold helmets are typically lighter and sleeker than injection mold helmets, in which the EPS foam is bonded to a separate, hard plastic shell. Injection mold helmets may offer more durability against some falls, but the impact protection of both in-mold helmets and injection helmets are the same. Strap your boots on and head to the mountain in our selection of top-of-the-line snow helmets from Maplus, Uvex, Giro and other top winter sport brands.
